Terrie was just beginning a commercial cutflowers business when she suffered a stroke, seriously affecting her ability to use her arm and hand. After surgery and therapy, Terrie recovered limited use of her right hand. However, her ability to work effectively, and without great discomfort, was still not achieved.  This drastically impacted the development of her farm.  AgrAbility brought key partners together and developed specific assitive tools, techniques (such as better work postures), and cultivation plans.  These partners, including Virginia State University-Extension, Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center, and the Department of Rehabilitation Services, helped Terrie continue her dream of growing cut flowers, even expanding to include a high tunnel greenhouse!

"I would not be able to conduct my business without AgrAbility's involvement.. I did not know the sources and resources to get the help I needed, to assist me in being able to do my work, until AgrAbility helped me out"
